At some point, she switched over from making the pies herself and started buying Mrs. Wick's Sugar Cream Pie, without me knowing until I was in college. That's how good Grandma's pie was.
Sugar Cream Pie
1 Cup sugar
1/3 to 1/2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups of half and half
- Cook on stove top until thickened.
- Pour in baked crust.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg and dab butter.
- Bake at 350 until lightly golden.
